Interesting. It's always seemed odd to me that folks want to use some random address for their project name. Ya, it's cool if it's 1000, or 007, but aside from that, what's the deal?

I'm going to revive this comment that someone made back in July of 2013:
...external stairways and walkways really rub me the wrong way, especially on such a large building...
At night in particular I'm not liking the look of those exposed stairways and the (seemingly always, nowadays) too bright lights which will be on at all hours. It looks motel-ish. Makes me think of an older motel in Las Vegas or Florida or somewhere.

I've found this element of the design questionable since the project was first revealed. I guess time will tell if it's successful or not.

Also, the communal hallways/areas must be lit up as per the building code. We see this at every motel, in the Songhees (where multiple buildings have exterior hallways) and in city parkades.

City Hall’s Pandora Avenue/Centennial Square entrance pavilion, by the way, is 2/3’s up the 600-block. How’s that for a cruel joke? (and on whom?)
You've certainly opened a box there. But I think we can all agree that Pandora's Avenue is the last place where anyone should expect to find ills and evils.

When is completion anticipated?

Folks should be moving in by February, is my understanding.

I wonder if this building (and others) are making a dent in the rental vacancy rates in Victoria. The evidence is not scientific and is largely anecdotal, but I've noticed quite a few vacancy signs whilst driving around close-in neighbourhoods like Fairfield and Fernwood recently...

Yeah I don't know if it is yet. This will only be the third large one to complete. Perhaps when we see the Yello complete too. Still they are all peanuts compared to the in-migration so I am not sure we are actually getting ahead.
