This is where I would want to watch the big games. How is this NOT in constant use?

That's what she said.
Interesting comments here. And I repeat, tennis courts anyone?
In Europe most countries do not have public tennis courts - you have to pay per hour to play. Here in Victoria, we have an abundance of public courts so I don't really see a need for one as an amenity. It would hardly be used - how often do you see people working out in condo gyms? Let alone playing a sport that requires a partner.

Most people have a 50'' TV in their unit and they are closer to their fridge and laptop as well. I thought more people would use the BBQ but guess not.

Now that is a cool idea.Hey, how about a common walk-in freezer? With individual lockers for each unit, then that replaces the deep-freeze they had at their SFD.

Things like concierge service definitely higher strata fees.
Do many have that service?
I assumed it was something the developer would set up to make a project more appealing, but would be discontinued once the units were sold and the new owners realized the cost.

Come to think of it, I can only think of one place I've ever seen with a doorman in Victoria: The Aria. Even then, it's more of a security desk than anything. I couldn't tell you if it is still there.

Ah, here it is, still a striking building, really the only one with rounded corner balconies. Harwood and Burrard, 5 suites per floor, one corner balcony was divided in half. Nice spot to be in. I think we were 14th floor...

What exactly does a concierge in a condo do?
He arranges the girls, hopefully.

I'm fearful of the annual maintenance and insurance cost of a large common-area swimming pool and fitness area. I bet it would be cheaper to get a pass at the local rec centre.

Cheaper but not as convenient.
