Victoria's housing market, home prices and values

What exactly do you guys want? You want free market economics to dictate market rates, but you support government supply controls and boundaries.
You want freedom of movement, but you don’t want people moving here, and you don’t want high density housing, but you support restrictions on building on undeveloped land, leaving no choice but to build high density, but you also don’t want mid-density anywhere near your low density.
Wouldn’t it be easier to just say that now that you’re here, we pull up the drawbridge?
Also, I don’t actually disagree with you guys on a lot of these points but I’m trying to help you put together stronger arguments. I deal with this sort of thing for a living. Most people get wrapped up very quickly in their arguments because they won’t say what they’re really thinking. If you want the drawbridge to be pulled up, just say it.

You aren't talking about free market. Free market would mean we as a community can organize to speak for the community. That is what municipal government should be. So just like you would expect to have control over people building on your private property, As a community there should be some control over what can happen, as input by the community. That is community freedom. You are proposing fascism. where government regulates for the sake of corporations. That is not free market. Free market is you ask your neighbour if it is ok to build your monstrosity because if it isn't, the neighborhood will run you out of town and demolish it.
No one is pulling up the straw man bridge...

Holy smokes, man. With arguments like that, don’t expect to win any gains for whatever it is you’re fighting for. I can’t even begin to make sense of that.
Right. Metaphor is lost on you but Straw Men are the pinnacle of logical debate. Got it.

Your world view looks like chaos, and society cannot function if self-appointed gatekeepers have a say over a decision like what you can do on your private property.
And that’s another contradiction, you want private property rights, but yet, you say “Free market is you ask your neighbour if it is ok to build your monstrosity because if it isn't, the neighborhood will run you out of town and demolish it.” That’s complete anarchy. The last thing a functioning society needs is Dasmo’s blessings or hit squads.
Can you not see the tangled mess you’re advocating for? Maybe you’re trolling.

And you also can’t both demand freedom, and decry freedom of mobility.
There is no loss of freedom of mobility, you are free to live anywhere you want.

She’s all about freedoms. Naturally, Dasmo really, really dislikes her.

Disagreement doesn’t equate to hate. This is one of the biggest issues theses days.

She was the 4th choice on my ballot, I am afraid her tent is not going to be big enough to unite the party.
I hope I am proven wrong.

A party should stand for something and not capitulate to the lowest common denominator. If there are BC Liberals who can’t handle a Conservative leading a Conservative Party, then that’s a problem they’ll have to rectify personally and not expect the party to bend itself to their will.

She may end up premier but probably not because people will vote for her, but because they'll vote against Eby.

The problem is a bunch of disaffected NDP's and red tories might be swayed to vote for the Centre BC Party, allowing the NDP to get elected again. I watched her interview on Global today and she is saying the right things, let's hope it continues and she doesn't start housecleaning and bringing in a bunch of sycophants.
