I guess I understand why the Liberals are PO'd, but what is surprising about this (scary) alliance?

What's truly scary is the spectre of another 4 years with Christy Clark.
(Not the owner of, nor am I associated with, the Blue Fox Café, in any way.)

Sorry, but your comment does not help me understand why anyone is surprised by this alliance.

I don't understand the NDP. Are they arrogant or just plain stupid?

All Rankin had to do was keep his mouth shut, do as he was told and he would have won the election by 25 points. Instead he decides that he is smarter than his handlers and gives people a reason not to vote for him (sewage) and comes within 2% of losing.

Dix is doing the same thing. If Dix went on vacation and didn't utter a peep between now and election day he would still win by a landslide. Now he is trying to make the NDPs life difficult by bringing unions into the fold. Sinclair knows he has Dix in his pocket so he should be acting a lot smarter as well.

Rankin has a massive ego. Almost as massive as Michael Ignatief's. Dix scares me because he seems to be willing to suck up to anyone to win.

Well, you are half right. There is certainly nothing surprising about the labour movement trying to influence labour laws.

However the Liberal's are not "PO'd" because a) they never had any doubt it was going to happen, and b) they wanted to act all outraged as part of the kabuki theatre of politics in this province.

And yes, as a someone "on the other side" I would apply the "scary" label to the influence of the Fraser Institute et al on the BC Liberal Party. :D

I moved to BC 14 years ago, during the tenure of Glen Clark. I agree that BC politics is a * show. I remember businesses and people leaving the Province. I may not agree with with everything the Liberals have done over the years, but I do know that the business climate is far better than it was back then, meaning more jobs and more investment. I think that if it weren't for the current global economy, BC would be even better positioned. I would truly hate to see us go backwards, which is the only way that we could go with an NDP government. I think it would spell bankruptcy.
