As an independent, I must say I've been quite happy with Rob Fleming as an MLA. He is one of my favourite MLAs and I am pleased to have him as my provincial representative.

Fleming is well in the lead. He'll be taking this all the way.

I may be reading far too much into this, but I saw Rob and his family shopping at the Thrifty Foods in Fairfield on Friday.  I mean, maybe they met him or picked him up and did their shopping by his place of work?  The House doesn't sit on Fridays, but I'm sure local MLAs/Ministers may stick around the office.  Although, wouldn't the James Bay one be closer?  Way worse parking, though.  Perhaps they were going to a very working class potluck and were stopping by the deli counter to grab some ready made fare.

Or maybe he actually lives in Fairfield, but is the MLA for Victoria-Swan Lake.  Does anyone here happen to know?

I mean, It's not the most egregious thing in the world, mind you - not living in the riding which one represents.  But the optics sure aren't great for a Minister of the provincial party of the proletariat.  Perhaps the rabble just doesn't care that their advocates are Champagne socialists.

Fair play.  But with your family in tow?  I nip into places all over town - on my own.  That's what's sticking out in my head.

Sometime one has errands/ business in another part of town and clusters there stops?

Admirals Thriftys/ Esquimalt Country Grocer are closer to me, but we decided to have breakfast at Artisan Cafe in Broadmead Village. We then went to shopping in that neck of the woods.

Well that’s not entirely true or fair. He did do his obligatory stint as a communications consultant for five minutes between UVic student government/graduation and the following civic electoral cycle.
