A fellow on the Pentax camera forum stuck a DSLR camera into a padded box and sent it up with a weather balloon.
He got some nice photos from the way up, up to 104,000ft: http://www.flickr.co...9049987/detail/

I'm no Don Lemon fan, but what he said the other day was no big deal. I think even right after he said it, he was unsure what he was trying to convey. It's just like he said it for something to say in the moment, as he wanted to say something negative towards Haley.

News anchor Don Lemon will not appear on CNN This Morning on Monday after making a sexist comment about women.
A representative for the television personality has confirmed to Deadline that Lemon would not appear on CNN This Morning on Monday, although the rep noted that he was simply taking the President's Day holiday off.
Lemon has come under fire over a comment he made about when women are in their "prime" during Thursday's episode of the show.
The 56-year-old claimed that presidential contender Nikki Haley, 51, "is not in her prime, sorry, when a woman is considered to be in her prime is her 20s and 30s and maybe 40s".
When asked what he meant by "prime", the host said, "It depends. It's just like prime, if you look it up. If you Google, 'when is a woman in her prime', it will say, 20s, 30s and 40s."
Lemon was absent from Friday's episode due to scheduled time off. Sara Sidner has been set as his temporary replacement, joining co-hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins.
CNN Chairman and CEO Chris Licht issued a staff call on Friday in which he called Lemon's statements "unacceptable".

Amid ongoing criticism over his comments about Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, Don Lemon was absent Monday from "CNN This Morning." Co-host Poppy Harlow told viewers that "Don has the day off."
Lemon has not been on the air since Thursday, when during a discussion on "CNN This Morning" about the ages of politicians he said that the 51-year-old Haley was not "in her prime." A woman, he said, was considered in her prime "in her 20s, 30s and maybe her 40s."
Challenged by Harlow, Lemon added: "Don't shoot the messenger, I'm just saying what the facts are."

"I sat down with Don and had a frank and meaningful conversation. He has agreed to participate in formal training, as well as continuing to listen and learn. We take this situation very seriously," Licht told staff in the memo obtained by Fox News Digital late Monday .
"It is important to me that CNN balances accountability with a fostering a culture in which people can own, learn and grow from their mistakes. To that end, Don will return to CNN This Morning on Wednesday," Licht added.

Brian Stelter is back at CNN.
In an email to subscribers of CNN’s “Reliable Sources” media newsletter, Stelter said he will be returning as the lead author of the publication that he founded in 2015. He said he will relaunch the newsletter on Sept. 9.
Under CNN’s previous leadership regime, the news network parted ways with Stelter after cancelling the TV show (also called “Reliable Sources”) in 2022. Stelter returns to pick up the mantle of “Reliable Sources” newsletter after the exit last month of Oliver Darcy, who had come aboard to work on the newsletter and was assigned to keep the newsletter moving. Darcy has launched a newsletter called “Status,” covering media, entertainment and the tech industry.

CNN announced on Thursday that it is eliminating about six percent of its workforce — mainly across the network’s traditional television operations — as it aims to expand its digital and streaming services as cable viewers continue to cut the cord.
Roughly 200 employees will be laid off, though the network is looking to add roughly that same number of staffers to its digital side over the next year.
Additionally, the network is reshaping its weekday lineup, which will see Jim Acosta losing his 10 a.m. ET show and is in talks to move to a new role. Acosta’s program will be replaced by The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown, with Blitzer moving from his early-evening slot. Audie Cornish will also be getting her own morning show.

CNN anchor Jim Acosta is reportedly leaving the network after he was officially pulled from its programming schedule.
The Status newsletter reported Monday that Acosta was expected to leave CNN after it was announced last week that his 10 a.m. ET program was being replaced with "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown" in the network’s latest reshuffling.
The newsletter previously reported that Acosta was pitched by CNN CEO Mark Thompson to move him from his one-hour slot at 10 a.m. ET to a two-hour slot beginning at midnight, a far less distinguished place in the lineup.

WHITE HOUSE REMARKS: The president is holding a news conference to discuss the plan, which comes after crime in D.C. hit a 30-year low.
Love the way they frame that.

U.S. president also announced he's federalizing the local police
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he will deploy hundreds of D.C. National Guard troops on the streets of Washington as part of a push to rein in violent crime, even as local police data shows those incidents are down sharply this year.
Trump is also moving to federalize the Metropolitan Police Department, placing the municipal agency directly under the control of people who report to the president.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump described the nation's capital as a crime-infested hellscape that requires a heavy-handed federal approach to bring "bloodthirsty" criminals and "drugged-out maniacs" to heel.

That’s all fine, but how does DC crime compare to OTHER CITIES? These articles don’t dare compare.
