The 29-seat beachfront restaurant at Willows Beach, normally open in the spring and summer, has just started opening on Sundays between 9 a.m. to noon, offering $10 breakfasts.

No, but considering how badly I botched up the hash browns this morning, I'd be willing to let someone else do the cooking next week :P

Is a pickleball court different from tennis?

Very small skate park behind the tennis bubble from around 2004 used to be a tennis court self practice wall.

I’ve always thought Willows Beach was overrated/crowded. Need to dump tons of good sand between Queens Park and Haynes Park.

we need to found some type or movement or organization to make sure we are no once again shut down in the future.

it'll need a catchy slogan.  is "never again" taken?   :rtfm:

That's what happens when you close off parking in a park I guess. Folks park in front of other people's houses. Probably will happen with Beacon Hill. That's what I plan to do.

Songhees, Oak Bay embark on shared knowledge project for popular beach

“This is very important land and foreshore for all Lekwungen-speaking people, both for its history as a village site and for its connectivity to TI’ches, our islands immediately offshore. We appreciate Oak Bay’s efforts at a government-to-government relationship but much work remains, and this is a start of building that relationship,” Songhees Chief Ron Sam said in a statement.

I don’t really understand that statement. Hundreds of years ago the First Nations might have had some connection.

But I see no evidence of that today. I also don’t understand the mention of Lekwungen-speaking people. How many do they number? A dozen?

Travelling trailers popular with Willows Beach visitors

Odd.  In summer maybe I'll just pull my trailer into 5 parking stalls and sell lemonade at the beach.
