Too bad it is totally useless for the majority who don't live or want to live in the very small geographic area of Victoria proper. A lot of time and effort was spent here, good effort too. Not a lot of additional effort would have been required to expand it to the rest of the CRD so it would actually be really useful, but alas, those are not economies of scale we get to enjoy with 13 fiefdoms.

Nice find, Dylan. I knew various municipalities had their own mapping systems but I didn't know about the CRD Atlas.

Note to users - there's a small "layers" tab in the top-right corner you don't want to miss ;)

That requires Microsoft "Silverlight" software. Have any readers experienced problems with adding that software to their PC?

And I get over 10M hits when I google "Apple quicktime problem".

I think you're fine.

That's roughly how many PC's I've fixed, and I couldn't tell you the last time I had Silverlight go wonky.

Ok, thanks. But still along the same lines as my previous comment... why is more than one of the same thing necessary!

VicMaps and GIS Maps are far superior to the CRD Atlas. With GIS Maps you can look up a lot of different things including engineering drawings for all services, etc.

Some youtube's just won't embed for some reason.

Here is your link to learn about Saanich GIS maps. Apparently there is an enhances map coming in November.

Saanich uses this taxpayer funded tool to see if you have built a new sundeck without a permit.
