This week we have retired Victoria Heritage Planner Steve Barber join us. Back in the late 80's
Steve joined the fledgling department during Cadillac Fairview's redevelopment of the site where the
Bay Ctr is now. Contentious enough that after being passed the mayor of the day recalled the application
for a second look. Its debatable if that compromise was worth the effort. Steve shares his views of the
process and where the CRD region can go in the future. http://bit.ly/2eYAVSQ Enjoy the show

So bylaws can override federal laws now? Interesting.
There are probably alot of communities where the sheriff in town ignores the rules as laid down
by the governing bodies and keeps the peace his/her own way. This is potentially one of those
instances. The question is if you are going to break the rules is the juice worth the squeeze?
Is there a benefit of the being the pot capital of Vancouver Island? If not then re think the
situation.

contemplates a situation where a city can show too much compassion for a group or individual.
What ever happened to tough love, drawing a line in the sand, having people take responsibility
for their own actions. Enjoy the show and share with a friend.

This week we have Carol-Lynne Michaels and Rebecca Togneri from CONFABULATION YYJ which is a story
telling event held in monthly in Victoria, Montreal and Toronto. We thought since Victoria was known
for its politicians "all talk no action" techniques, it might be interesting to hear from some people
who specialize in talk. Enjoy the show. http://bit.ly/2nGwj7P

Good Morning Vibrant Victorians,
Our latest Lisa, Gene and Eric show is available for your listening pleasure. This week, hot off the council moratorium on redeveloping older rental stock in the Victoria area, we were joined by Stuart Kerr of Surfside Holdings who was in the midst of a plan to demolish an aging 34 unit building to construct 82 units when the moratorium came into effect.
Victoria council is hoping we can relax whilst they come up with innovative ways to deal with the existing and pending housing crisis. Eric was not convinced. Enjoy the show and we love your comments. http://bit.ly/2t9wxI0

I am not too sure if we as voters question our sanity when we vote and I think we take a massive leap of faith and assume that they wouldn't run if they didn't have the skills. It is not an effective way to make decisions and we keep doing it.
