It’s not immigration that is the issue, it’s the way Canada has elected to pursue the immigration issue.
Trudeau’s famous “all are welcome” Twitter post was not lost on those who wish to pursue illegal means of entering this country, thereby creating longer wait times for those applying through the proper channels (this, in fact, is now a serious challenge facing Canadians and immigrant hopefuls). Ontario in particular has been hard hit with communities there scrambling to find housing for people and the funding to house them while the feds look on in pursuit of their next pre-election goal.
Canada is a nation of immigrants, of which I am one, but immigration as historically identified in our country is not what is currently happening along our border, and while we absolutely should help those who are fleeing violence or persecution, the federal government’s mishandling of the situation is epic.
