The lines on the sulivan square one are lovely!

Nice! Note the sunlight hitting the buildings and the stripped Odd Fellows Hall.

Wrapping things up here.
I'll head back in a while to take the final result shots. But it's pretty much done and dusted.
Taken today.

Check out the public art:

New rule about public art in Victoria: It's not supposed to even make any sense any more, nor should much effort be put into it at all.
There ought to be a "Public art" thread.

Exclusive first pictures of the inside. I've pretty much discovered over the past while that (as long as the site isn't a hard hat area) if you walk with a sense of purpose and with a camera, you can pretty much do what you like. I swear I could have done a tour of the entire building. (But I was chicken, so I just had a peek in the lobby.)

Thanks, gum. Nice pics.

Yes, your picture taking tip is correct. Here's a surefire way to get out of any sticky situation. If confronted, simply say, "This is 819 Toronto, right?" (right address, wrong street). He'll say "No, this is 819 Oswego--what are you doing here?" Then look at your watch, say "oh ****, now I'm late" and take off.

Right on, thanks for the photos.

So, uh, what is the MacMillan Bloedel logo doing there?

Know it all.

^Slippery slope. You could find yourself answering to a person a little higher on the totem pole, who'd insist on more info.
"Oh really? What company are you with? Who did you speak with?"
My approach is to just pretend to be a development freak that collects photos of buildings like other's would collect **rno images. Which isn't really a lie, really.

Is that painted concrete I see there? Oxford S. would be pleased.

This building looks rather fine indeed. Very nice.

I like the building but it has kind of suburban feel to it but I guess you can't have ground floor townhouses on a timeshare.

You can stamp this one as "completed", Derf.
Taken today:

It been so long since construction on this one began. It was odd to actually experience it "alive".
It's bittersweet for me. This is a nice building, but sadly it will be mostly rich, non-Victorians enjoying it for short stints at a time.
I don't want to see too many more of these types of developments in future.
It's time for some rentals apartments for the citizens of this city.

Are those public facilities or just for guests? It looks like a lounge.

I think it's just for guests.
There's no restaurant signs. It's more loungy.
Did you get your pic viewing thing fixed, West?

I agree!

BTW, I've changed this one to "completed".
