I don't know.  These properties are nice and all, but would be 100x better if we had 5 degree warmer summers that lasted an extra couple months.

What can you buy on the water in Northern California?

Waterfront is nice to look at, but too cold and windy most of the year.

California does look nice when you compare lol. Though these aren’t exactly near population centers. A couple of options in a quick search:

Rust, maintenance, winds, cooler temperatures, and extremely high property taxes. What’s not to love about waterfront property?

I sit on a hill and just as happy to have a great view of the ocean. Paying an extra million or two to sit on the water is perhaps not always the best decision. It is different down south where you can actually swim in the ocean most of the year. But different strokes for different folks.

I wonder if given the chance to go back and do it all over again, planners (not that there were planners likely when the original road or trail was built) would instead put the road inland, and have more waterfront properties.  Then every I don't know, 300m or 500m you could have a small park with beach access and a few parking stalls.

I mean, it's a lovely drive along there especially in summer, but for me I've mostly just enjoyed it from the car, not sure I've even put my foot in the water there.

Perhaps the road where it is was the least troublesome way to expropriate land for a road. That way no properties were split up. The old farms would run right up onto the beach, I assume?

I'm guessing Lochside pre-dates any highway.   Just a little south of the subject property here, and before the crazy round-about farm, there are quite a few properties on the water side of the road.

Could internal roads have come before Lochside? Maybe not.

Jamie, I mean Aastra, pull the historic articles up, please.

Good and bad on the location. Bit of a zoo down there all summer and well into the evening.

I'd have driveway GATES for sure!  But I also might have parties in the front yard, with priority for bikini girls.  They can buzz at the gate and make their case.

In the old days there was a bit of a party bungalow here just south of the entry street.

The estate includes a garage with parking for two, a workbench, an insulated attic, and a studio with a kitchenette and bathroom—ideal for guests, an office, or rental income. Nearby, Orchard Cottage serves as a fully contained guest house with a kitchen, bath, in-suite laundry, and private fenced yard.
