Capital Daily article says "The proposal was debated earlier along lines of traffic, disturbance of the park, and noise versus the need for housing in the growing community" ... then at the end, says "a large two-bedroom unit would cost about a million dollars."
I don't get how this is supposed to help with "the need for housing." Everybody living in this project will be a wealthy retiree coming from somewhere else. Anyone who can pay $1M for a 2BR is not going to rent it out, except in emergencies or through AirBnB. If they really need the income, they could park that $1M in a GIC and get $50K in a year, with far less headache than dealing with a long-term tenant paying $3000 a month for a unit the owner can't use. Please explain.

Wonder if a number of projects are being scrapped. High costs and less people looking to purchase. A 15% undermarket units just makes the whole thing less viable.
