Postal worker is much better. Who says someone "went mail"?

Staffed elevators would be a neat innovation. Could solve a lot of problems.

A review of the new Hillside Walmart. https://www.reddit.c...tm_source=share
TL:DR: 1/4 the size of the Uptown Walmart, almost all self checkout, maybe has 1/3 the items and brands Uptown Walmart stocks, pharmacy on 2nd level, very clean inside, and friendly staff. Bring a loonie for the shopping cart. Parts of the Walmart sign outside already burnt out. They do not have the baby carrots and beans frozen veg mix from Good Value.

When in doubt, it can be helpful to refer back to early seasons of "The Simpsons".

Uptown has at least 2 long aisles of "international" foods. One of the main reasons to go there. Haven't been to the Hillside one yet but from what folks have said about the size, I imagine its international section won't be as big. Haven't been to the Langford one for a while - what kind of international section does it have?

Just went there today and its definitely a smaller selection.. quite frankly speaking, this new Walmart overall feels like a scaled down version of the Uptown one, especially since the first floor layout is almost identical to Uptown's which made things a little easier to find lol.

...From day one I was hoping against hope that they might go the extra mile and carve out a few actual windows here and there on that old Sears facade. Even some narrow vertical-sliver windows would have been nice.
Windows don't increase the bottom line. Walmart was never going to do this.

But I might have spent a dollar in there by now if there were some windows to actually draw me inside.

With Canadian Tire and Wal Mart, the mall felt more alive than I recall it being since I was a kid. It struggled* for a long time, it felt like.
*not Tillicum struggled. Tillicum is in a different league.
