Many people seem to treat 'speed' as the demon in all dangerous driving. The problem is inattention and lack of ability to perform driving duties. Those signs should read Caution, please be aware, or please be conscious.

Yeah but it's far easier to prosecute for speeding then lack of attention.

This is a good long article about reopening the cowuilhaka .

https://www.cbc.ca/n...epaired-35-days

The NDP should have hired film crews to document this. Would have made for some good election materials in an area they need help.

View Street is now two-way between Government and Blanshard.

Has anyone been asking for this "improvement"?

Yes, the James Bay people like the cruise buses going that way instead.

With View reverted to 2-way, anyone care to bet how long before Broad between Yates and View is blocked to traffic?

And cruise ship passengers have been clamouring for years for a more direct vehicular route to the View Street Parkade.

Probably sooner than fixing some of the horrific road surfaces...

CoV roads are now "fixed" by adding large concrete barriers like diverters and traffic islands, presumably to hide some of the larger potholes.

View Street now going everyone's way, with return of two-way traffic

The change is meant to improve access to Government Street and the View Street and Bay Centre parking garages, says a City of Victoria spokesman.

"The change is meant to improve access to Government Street"

How ironic.

A new roundabout that’s more than 20 years in the making will be built at the intersection of Beacon Avenue and Galaran Road in Sidney.

The $4.9-million roundabout, now in the design process, is expected to be completed by the fall of 2023. The cost will be split between the Greater Victoria Airport Authority, Sidney and North Saanich, with the airport and Sidney each paying 40 per cent and North Saanich kicking in 20 per cent.
