The vague reference to Centennial Square was interesting. Basically he said that now that the CRD buildings are complete, the city can now move forward and make this the public space we all want it to be. Hopefully that means more than just tearing down the restaurant.

I was also interested in the first half of the interview when he spoke on Amalgamation. He said he would at least like to see the core municipalities amalgamate so Victoria could be invited to the big city Federal conferences.

I was also a little surprised to here him speak of excitement of the residential proposals in North Town. I don't completely agree with him on the fact that the Arena has created this new developent but the arena is definately part of this North Town rebirth.

In the amalgamation discussion it was interesting to hear of the magic number of 200,000 peeps in order for Victoria to be part of more federal programs. I had never heard of that stat before, it was also interesting hearing him talk about only bringing the 4 core municipalities together to reach this magic number.
