This will indeed be the most exclusive condo development in downtown Victoria, perhaps even the entire region.

If it ever gets built.

It's already underway.

At a glacial pace!

And you can't hurry quality.

They could hurry the demolition of the 1950s structure.

They could just blow it up, but it's not how we do things in Victoria.

No, we prefer to "deconstruct" even when there is nothing of value to salvage from the existing structure.

It's all going on unseen, inside the buildings. There's a lot of work underway and has been for quite some time.

Does this include the 1950s building or just the historic structures?

Both are being worked on at the moment. The old building in preparation for a restoration, the newer building in preparation for demolition.

Can someone screenshot the old and new side? The part coming down vs the part staying.

The portion with the red X's is coming down and being replaced with new construction. I believe the remainder is being remodeled.

I believe you are right in what is coming down and being replaced. In addition I believe they will be putting some units on the roof of the old building. My understanding is that these will be large units, and priced very high. Meant to be big time luxury in a world famous location.

Don't be so sure.

Should the status be "approved" or "under constructiom"?

It seems to me it the last renderings were more "bland" than this.  :whyme:

I don't think it should be approved until the new buildings floors line up with the old building
