Edible manufacturer in Saanich busted:

What an idiot, why would he set up in Saanich when it would have been perfectly ok for him to run 3x the operation in Victoria.

Or 4.5 blocks around the corner from "Trees" in Rock Bay is Baked Edibles. No cops showing up there.
Plus, aftewards, stop by for a beer (hoyne, driftwood, Moon) and when you get the munchies, a nice Saltchuck Pie or a scoop of Ice Cream at Parachute! Duh!

You just have to love selective law enforcement.

^^No way that would be a perfectly straight line.

Sounds like the perfect business model to me. A product that makes you want to consume more.

Perhaps the bakery lobby which consist mostly of unenhanced bakeries forced the closure of the 4200 block glanford ave saanich-based edibles company.

Cannabis retailers wanting to set up shop in Langford will improve their chances of approval if they are willing to give the city a piece of the action.
In addition to a business plan and security measures, applicants will have to provide a “proposed plan for assisting the city, including through financial contributions, with policing and bylaw enforcement costs, including the costs of additional training and other increased city costs.”
“If they give us a percentage, then obviously the highest percentage we get, the more money we have to manage it,” Mayor Stew Young said.

From what I've learned, this business was owned wholly by investors that live outside the country. Perhaps they were unaware of the difference in municipal laws?
Either way. BUSTED.

I can see there being a very busy mail-order trade in recreational pot once it's legal. Well, there already is one, but once you can not be busted for some arriving in the mail, I can see it taking off. And I'm not sure they are going to respect provincial borders, or source the product from registered growers. Or pay taxes.
