Funny, last I knew, Tudor House is in Esquimalt, which is a district different than Victoria.
Same province, same provincial rules.

If all you're selling is marijuana products then I suppose all need to be hidden, just like all tobacco products.
Sure but tobacconists don't need frosted glass, as per Jackerbie's post above.

No, they have to entirely hide their products from sight.

Right, which is different from the provincial regulations covering cannabis retailers apparently. And different from the liquor regulations obviously.
I am comparing cannabis and alcohol because they are both intoxicants. Ah well, Early Days still I suppose.

Products may have to be hidden, but vision glass and window displays are permitted.
Advertising "Tobacconist" is against Provincial tobacco laws too. However, this building is heritage protected. The owners of the shop were receiving fines from the health regulator, but the city refused to issue a permit to change the sign. They had to get legal help and eventually go to the media to get the City and the Province to sort things out amungst themselves.

^ Yup, they got permission based on a couple lines in the Act (not sure if they were added for this as because of this) allowing for relaxation of the rules in heritage-designated buildings with a historic connection to the sale of tobacco. The dispensary is also going in to a heritage-designated building, but they lack that second requirement.

^So if a pot shop went into the former location of the 1870 cannabis joint pharmacist I posted on the previous page they would get an exception?

Somehow I doubt that the same exemption language is written in to the cannabis legislation, but in terms of this thought experiment, yes, they would reasonably be able to apply to the Province for an exemption to the Act.

The Original FARM has received a provincial retail license, so it will become the first truly legal dispensary in the CoV once it receives municipal approval. Unlike some other shops, they have remained closed since Oct 17.
Not sure of their provincial license is for both shops, or just the original Hillside location.

Pot stores find banks saying no to their business
"....But even with the blessing of the province and the municipality, the business faced major hurdles when they tried to open a small business bank account.
Most of the big five banks replied with a flat-out no, saying they did not yet have the policies for cannabis businesses, Neumerschitsky said. “The big banks will have nothing to do with us. Everyone is telling me this is a risk issue. Well, what’s the risk? We’re a legal business.” https://www.timescol...ness-1.23637832
