Following that foreign worker issue at the Pandora McDonald's, did it not become a corporate store?
Now that that child has been pricked by a needle at that location there were references in the media to the "owner" making a statement, or something like that. So it was re-sold by McDonald's Inc. to a franchisee?
Same people own Douglas downtown, and Pandora.
Pandora was owned by a Glen Bishop.
He sued over the loss of 3 units.

Back in 2013 before all the TFW stuff broke, he owned Pandora plus 3 more:
Sep 10, 2013 - Glen Bishop, who along with his wife also owns McDonald's locations at Douglas and View, Hillside Avenue and Hillside Mall, values that stability. “I think it's great that the customers get to see her on a regular basis,” he said.

Ah, very good. So the former owner (during the temporary foreign worker situation) was one Glen Bishop and Nasib Services.
Now it's Wayne Krawchuk.

^Krawchuck's been with McDonalds for 40 years. He also owns ten franchises up-Island and has worked at head office in Canada, US and England.

McDs on southern Vancouver Island have gone through waves of franchise and corporate management, I believe. To my knowledge they were all corporate when I worked there (2004-2007). Staff could be shuffled around among stores, so even though I worked at Hillside, I would pull shifts at Shelbourne, Pandora, and Douglas on an ad hoc basis. I think McOpCo sold a bunch of the stores after I left.

I personally saw the coroner inside when I talked by and police investigating.
And while diners were inside. Why would the restaurant remain open while a death investigation was underway? Isn’t that a bit bizarre?

The patrons were probably never safer than when the coroner and police were present.

There was a death, reportedly, at the Douglas and View McDonalds this evening.
I personally saw the coroner inside when I talked by and police investigating.

I think I would be a little apprehensive about swallowing the food if
the coroner shows up .

I am not sure the legal precedent about someone being pricked by a needle there (was it inside or outside?) and McDonald's responsibility. That's like saying someone stepped on a needle downtown on a sidewalk and CoV is responsible blah blah blah
as for the coroner at view and douglas, anything could have happened - someone stabbed, OD'd, choked on a fry

We're pretty certain an individual was discovered in the bathroom unresponsive. A witness said police tried to revive the individual but were unsuccessful.

It looks like one of the regulars has left their briefcase.
I think there could be a clue in this enlarged version. A large slurpee on the table, likely picked up at 7 Eleven on the way over to get 2 for one Big Mac's.
Then there is the shadowy reflection in the window carrying another briefcase with the nuclear codes.

I don't like the direction McDonald's has gone. I have never seen a fast-food chain Re-Brand itself so many times in such a short span of years. In my life I have seen it go from "Mcdonald's Hamburgers" To "McDonald's Pizza" where they changed all the signs over, to now "McCafe".
They don't even want to be called "Mcdonald's" anymore.
I like the how they were when I was a kid, where each location kind of had a theme to it. Like the one in Colwood was done up like a castle inside with all medieval themes, and an out-door play park, the one in Duncan was done up with a Railroad theme etc.
And what ever happened to all the McDonalds Characters like Hamburgler, Grimace, Mayor McCheese, Birdie the Early Bird, Fry Kids, Officer Big Mac, Captain Crook, The Happy Meal Gang? I thought that whole theme was great for McDonald's and should have stayed put.

McCafe saved McDonald's Canada.
In a MacLean's poll, they came out as the consumers top choice, Tim Hortons was fourth.
