At first I thought this was Wackeau, then I realized it was white-face makeup.

I’m surprised they didn’t make an EV version of that platform. The new bronco would be popular as an EV. Let’s face it, it’s not a capable off road vehicle - it’s a pavement fashion statement. Perfect for an EV.

In the ads on TV they show the Bronco exploring so far off-road there is no internet connection.

Next you’ll probably try telling me about all his charitable work, how that will make up for all the fatty deposits. I like to give credit where credit is due. Al Capone had a soup kitchen

Iconic Expo 86 'McBarge' capsizes in Fraser River

The vessel became famous as a McDonald's restaurant during the 1986 World Expo and hasn't been used since then

Why are we so bad at dealing with derelict vessels?

I mean, cmon now.

It does seem almost inevitable.  I suppose if it is already cleared of any bad liquids it does not do too much harm.

In the old days when McDonalds first started in-store self-serve ordering, your number would come up on the board when your item was ready or about to be ready at the counter. It would go from “in progress” to “ready” or something. That system seems to have been abandoned but they still have screens mostly just showing your order at the start then disappearing. Sometimes the customer-facing screen is just blank or off. Now the clerks desperately yell out the number as they wave the bag around. Why did this system break down?

I suspect they changed the logistics to favour some type of back of house logic, and that put the screens out of sync for the customer experience, and either they will not or can not update the software and/or hardware to make this work again like it initially did, with the sequencing going on now in the back.

I always assumed the system was still in place. They just say your order is done before it is to pad the stats. Same reason they ask you to park for your drive through order

It’s a decent TV commercial. I’d try that strawbery pie. I used to buy the apple pies all the time 30 years ago. Hot!!!

I’ll take this opportunity to continue my rant about drive thru restaurants asking you to park to receive your order.

Recently after complying with their request at the colwood corners Wendy’s (the worst Wendy’s in North America, im sure) they plainly forgot about my order. After 10 minutes I went inside to remind them and they first said they didn’t have an order for me. After way too much annoyance I got my order and left, vowing never to park and wait again.

Since then I’ve declined to park and wait every time. I’m on the road a lot so sadly I do hit up fast food places.
Anyway, the workers are always confused when I say no. But I just put the car in park and wait at the window.

Without fail, almost miraculously, they are able to bring my order to the window within a minute.

It’s all a big scam - they put the timing systems in place to increase speed to order. But the unintended consequence is that every restaurant pads their stats by parking you and bringing the order on their own sweet time. I won’t let them get away with it anymore.

My favourite is when they ask you to park when there’s nobody behind you in the drive thru. No thanks!

Yup. That’s the Skip Effect.

It can be even worse within the restaurant, as you’re waiting for Skip and drive thru to clear before they get to you.

I began saying “no, I’ll wait here” a couple of years ago.
Generally they just give you a quizzical look and then get everybody hustling to bag your order, which always arrives within 60 seconds.

If the cashier tries to engage in conversation, I point out that it’s called the “drive-thru” window ,not the “order and go park” window.
That puts an end to the conversation.

My daughter hates when I do it - but it’s the way of all future drive-thru ordering for me.

I really like McDonald’s curbside option ordering from the app. It’s kind of nice to just park, not have to talk to a single person, and they bring the food to your window.

I’ve used the in-store order kiosk with table delivery. Seems to work well, although sometimes the delivery person seems less than thrilled with their job.
