I think the Liberals would be a shoe-in for the jackass logo.

So Trudeau's big infrastructure bill is a whopping $10bn.  That's about 5% of the Covid welfare response and like 3% of the defecit going to something actually tangible and worthwhile.  What a joke

$10B over three years on the following:
« The three year growth plan will invest in everything from clean power, zero emission buses, broadband, and irrigation infrastructure for farmers.«

Are the buses made in Canada? Clean power equipment? You know where I’m going ....

Starlink will make it totally obsolete

In just the last month, there have been three successful launches and deployments, making SpaceX the largest fleet of satellites in the world, with more than 700 currently in orbit.

SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk wants to create a constellation made up of thousands of Starlink satellites that can offer high speed internet anywhere on the planet.

“The world seems to have an insatiable appetite for bandwidth,” Musk said at the Satellite 2020 conference in March. “We’re certainly happy to launch other satellites.”

The plan is to ultimately create an interconnected network of about 12,000 small satellites in low orbit around Earth. Using a small dish, customers will be able to connect and get fast internet speeds, with rural and tough to reach areas being the primary market.

SpaceX recently said it’s building about 120 satellites a month. Astronomers are concerned the extra points of light will make it harder to observe the night sky.

______________

SpaceX says the service will first be available in the U.S. and parts of Canada. Public trials are expected to take place later this year.

Recently Freeland when questioned about debt “Freeland said the government would take a time-honoured “cautious” approach".

Well if it is like the last infrastructure bill then the money will get spent but somehow nothing will get built.

Explains why Trudeau wants to rush through the broadband now after years of inaction....

Former federal Green Party leader Elizabeth May implored citizens to hold on to hope and not give into despair when it comes to facing the climate crisis and the pandemic.

As Green Party members, “we should have and must have hope,” May told the party’s leadership convention on Saturday.

what a nutbar.

“The reality of this is that the climate emergency is a far greater threat to humanity, to loss of millions of lives, to the collapse of human civilization within the lifetime of our children if we do not get our act together.”

Green Party members have picked Toronto lawyer Annamie Paul as their next leader, bringing to a close the year-long race to replace Elizabeth May.

Paul, who is Black and Jewish, was the perceived frontrunner heading into the final vote because she had raised the most money — $206,000 — and racked up a number of endorsements from former Green Party candidates.

Speaking as a conservative, I do agree with her that climate change is certainly an existential threat to us as humans (although "collapse of human civilization within the lifetime of our children..." is certainly hyperbolic). The thing that Ms. May et. al will never get is that Canada only currently contributes 1.6% of world GHG emissions. Going to war with our energy sector is not going to fix this, it will only put us at a competitive disadvantage. It's especially mind-boggling that the Greens oppose LNG, one of the cleanest viable energy sources.

Their friends are in the windmill industry, so they don’t stand to benefit financially from CNG investment.

It’s all about the money.

Even the new federal leader was chosen based on how much money she generated, which was shocking for the CBC to admit.

A good Leader is able to surround him/her self with good people.

"Wei also was among a delegation of four representing a Chinese government-endorsed industry group that met separately with Trudeau. Another member of the delegation donated $1 million to the Trudeau Foundation and the erection of a statue honoring the prime minister’s father."

"Justin Trudeau is dumping blame on the Harper government for problems at the Public Health Agency of Canada that hampered its ability to respond to the pandemic"

A truly classless act.  Taking a lessons from Trump.
