"Flight tracking websites show that jet originated in nearby Puerto Rico, not Ottawa.
“He is home with his family for the holidays,” a spokesperson replied in response to questions from the Sun.
Which home is another matter. CTV Parliamentary reporter Glen McGregor stated Trudeau was not in Ottawa at Rideau Cottage, but at the PM’s official second residence at Harrington Lake.
“Can confirm: PMJT is home for the holidays with his family at Harrington Lake residence. That is, he isn’t out of the country as wildly speculated on Twitter,” McGregor tweeted on New Year’s Day.

Nice try.
The popular vote in Canada is what wins elections in individual ridings, but not always national elections. But that doesn’t change the fact more Canadians supported the Cons than any other party, and that is still referred to as the popular vote.
I also wouldn’t call Liberals lefties as there’s a lot of diversity in that party.
i know that it saddens you that 2 out of 3 canadians do not support the CPC platform/agenda...but you just have to let it go!

Apparently as many dont support the LPC agenda (6.018 million vs 6.239 million) and less than 1/2 that for the 3rd place NDP (2.903 million)
We are a divided nation of East Vs West, Urban vs Suburban/rural. You dont let that go...you recognise it and you work towards finding a way to bridge those divides.
Based on the last few years of JT, he's not the one to do that. This isnt the centrist LPC of Chretien. I'm not sure O'Toole is either.

nope...nobody did....but if you lump all the libs, dippers and greens together ( and at least 1/2 the bloc) as "lefties" then i guess you could say the "left" did...

The current minority govt is a good example of alternative voting methods...we'd be permanently in a situation where the 3rd or 4th place parties would be kingmakers and would force ideology that would not be representative of the wishes of the majority...otherwise they wouldnt be 3rd or 4th place would they?

Yup, and I'll bring up my ice cream analogy again. Vanilla might have won the popular vote, but when three of the choices are a variation of "chocolate with different nuts," really, which flavour is most popular?
Special shout-outs to French vanilla and kookies & cream for offering a couple other choices, though.

While we’re all in a good mood, how about we address this:
- https://nationalpost...general-payettePrime Minister Justin Trudeau refused to apologize or acknowledge any responsibility for his decision to nominate now former Governor General Julie Payette, who resigned Thursday after a report found she helped create a “toxic” work environment at Rideau Hall.
During a press conference on Friday, Trudeau dodged repeated questions from reporters about his responsibility in the disastrous and unprecedented end to Payette’s tenure as Governor General, as well as the adequacy of the vetting process that failed to note similar issues she caused at previous workplaces.

I guess the Libs want to have the election over before people figure out that there isn’t enough vaccine to treat everyone by September.

Globe and Mail took to its front page to write the following in small text, taking up the entire front page:

And then there were two.
Jenica Atwin, a rookie Green MP from Fredericton, has crossed the floor over to the Liberals this morning.
This leaves only Elizabeth May and Nanaimo's Paul Manly as elected MPs of the Green Party.
