CBC calls the conservative race 'sleepy'.  SO sleepy.  Feel like sleeping just thinking about it...

Of course if it had been the liberal or NDP race it would have been historic, groundbreaking, trailblazing, inspiring, breaking barriers, challenging norms, etc etc

Isn’t it nice to not have a tumultuous political grandstanding saga?

It probably would have been more exciting if not for Covid. Really put a damper on things. Sleepy is the right word.

Rex Murphy: The bus approaches Bill Morneau

Canada’s superstar banker, fresh from England, has been asked to be a priority personal advisor to Trudeau himself

My take on the whole excitement thing is as much as the media seems to dislike Trump, they can’t get enough of him. Never in their lives has there been a candidate they couldn’t wait to hear from every morning and write about/cover.

Everything else is tame and quiet, unexciting and dare I say, normal. Even the CBC is falling asleep.

Some say it’s a ploy to deflect from the WE scandal. Like when he got rid of Butts during the Lavalin scandal (Butts is now back, go figure!).
Ultimately, Trudeau should go. He is the leader and has proven time and again that he has no ethics or he is too stupid to understand the concept. But that’s just my opinion. It doesn’t seem to matter these days to the general population.

I hear this is more to do with disagreements with Trudeau than being a scapegoat for the WE scandal. They’ve apparently been butting heads for months as JT is a big proponent of increasing the covid relief and Morneau is less enthusiastic

Agreed. It is no secret that Trudeau wants to open the funding taps even wider and Morneau has been against it. Like Horgan he is eyeing an early election while ratings are high and people have lots of money in their pockets. Waiting until next year poses a huge risk.

And now we have Chrystia Freeland, who loves taxation, and who led Canada astray in negotiations with the US.

What this means is the investigation into the WE scandal just ground to a halt, and now documents can be sealed and tidied up. Yikes. The optics are not good.

Trudeau is proroguing.

Funny thing is, he has to ask Gov. Gen. Julie Payette permission. Technically, anyway.

Laurel: “Simultaneously holding an internal celebration for the fact that we finally have Canada’s first female finance minister, and also morning [sic] the fact that it’s someone who has a track record of championing Saudi arms deals and opposing climate action.

Am I allowed to feel both?”

We are watching the beginning of the end of the Liberal government under Trudeau.

I would not be surprised if he resigned. But now we watch to see if Singh ceases supporting the PM and brings down government. Of course should government be brought down, the Liberals will blame the other parties for putting Canadians in “danger” during covid. And that could work for them in an election.

They are giving Singh everything he wants in order to preserve their time in power.
