I'm not sure Trump would have that kind of effect on Trudeau's reelection.

no I think Trudeau can screw it all up on his own.  Latest blunder is buying the pipeline

^so I'm confused here. Trudeau would of been damned if didn't buy the pipeline? Let the pipeline fail? Let Kinder Morgan pull out?

he didn't do a damn thing, stayed for the most part out of the debate and hid in the corner.  To me he showed he wasn't a real leader and even checking with some die hard Liberals I know and they feel the same way. Then the quick answer was to spend billions of taxpayer money to buy the pipeline

He rode in on daddy's coattails, now its time for some real leadership

This spat with Trump is downright bizarre. What the hell is even going on?

I have this sinking feeling Trump is going to go after our auto industry.

Unbelievable to me that Trudeau AND Scheer are standing up for dairy supply management in the wake of all this bluster.

Anybody seriously think Harper wouldn't be a better NAFTA renegotiator than Jr?

You ever had US dairy? It tastes like **** and I can 100% stand by not wanting it anywhere near Canada.

Harper has come out saying he is baffled by Trump and his actions.

Knowing that Trump is a hot head he should have kept quiet. Instead Trudeau tried to score a few political points after the meeting and it backfired.

Lots. Never noticed a difference. That's an interesting comment though, because we import lots of it.

I've had lots, I don't taste any difference.  I do know they inject cows with some hormones which are banned in Canada so the cows produce more milk

and serious what is wrong with another milk brand on the shelf?  Island Farms at $6.50, Dairyland at $5 and the US brand at $2.50.  Anyone want to guess what is going to sell?

If I were Trudeau I would be installing a new toll on the St Lawrence Seaway.  $10 million for every US bound ship.  $1 for Canadian bound

Another option, new tolls for US bound power from Quebec, etc $1/KWH

Your move Dumpy, er I mean Trump.  Play hardball, its what happens in business!

Love the cheese and milk from the States. Always load up on it when we are down there. They have a thing called the FDA and I'm sure they monitor whats in the dairy.

We hold a pretty big trump card (uranium), actually. I'd pull that ahead of tolling the St Lawrence or jacking up electricity export prices.

According to a couple of interveiw'es on Fox and CNN Trump was doing what he does best so he would keep the upper hand with KJU.

Yes. As has Newt Gingrich and many others.

Still, I'd feel a lot better if a conservative economist was leading us through this crisis (make no mistake, it is now a crisis) and not a virtue signalling substitute teacher. I feel like Trump might relate better with the former. But, that's just me.

I think Trump would of been a dick to anyone. He must look strong. He must pee higher on tree. No one is allowed to question him.

Backfire? It’s already backfired ...on Canada.

Uranium? Trump can’t wait for the uranium issue to come up. That’ll win him the primaries and the next election if Trudeau walks up on one of the biggest scandals in recent US history which ties back to the Democrats, Clinton and the boogeyman Russians.

Trump knows Canada is weak and he went for the jugular. Macron? Same thing. Now all we hear is how their feelings are hurt and how they thought we were all friends. Good grief.

Know it all.

We were screwed from the beginning with Freeland and JT handling the NAFTA renegotiations.

Trump's actions are typical of his past behavior. Great and everything/everybody is great followed by tough tweets. Bully and Coward.

But yes, Harper would of been way better in these negotiations!
