Maybe. But assuming that is correct that is not the same as joining Alberta without any consideration for existing treaties. I am sure many support leaving WITH Alberta too. I know someone advocating for that. But that is why, if they were serious, they would be engaging on that front because that is the primary legal barrier. If they got their support, then the feds would be screwed.

IDK what that means. But those treaties with the crown need to be considered because they are recognized by law. Ours and international. Or would Alberta go with a different legal system and start from scratch there?

She is a Jewish girl, but CBC can't bring themselves to say it.

 

 

Nor can the polaice spokesperson:

 

Nadine Ramadan, spokesperson for Toronto police, said in an email that police "understand reports of these posters being torn down are upsetting for the community."

Why on earth are they not reporting that fact? That’s fairly important to the coverage given what’s been happening to Jews in Canada, especially Toronto. Why leave that fundamental fact out??

It's racist, you would immediately think it was some anti Israeli group doing it and they wouldn't want you to think that, even if it's true.

Ripping down posters of a missing 14-year-old Jewish girl was an ugly, vicious stain on Canada, but the cruelty was compounded when our national news media — the CBC and The Canadian Press — felt unable to report the fact that she is Jewish.

Did none of the reporters or editors at those institutions think to wonder why so many of these particular posters were being torn down?

I actually see no blood in the video, I DO think the police had no idea he was stabbed (despite being told so).   Should they have checked better, probably.  Should they have handcuffed him?  Probably not, until they sorted it all out.

Police denied he had been stabbed, having done no cursory checking. Serious stab wounds may not bleed immediately, everyone knows this. But those cops apparently did not.

The CBC really needs a rework.
