I've been pondering creating an index of Greater Victoria playgrounds, if one doesn't already exist. Ideally it would be searchable by proximity and/or user ratings. If you're interested in helping, take a look at this google form where you can add any playgrounds you know of:

Thanks :) And let me know if you have any feedback/ideas on the concept.

From *this* mother's perspective, I love to learn about new playgrounds that my kids might enjoy. Some have features that *no other playground* has in the entire region - that *is* worth visiting, especially for kids that need all the different gross motor challenges one can throw at them to attempt to allow them to ditch the 'gross motor delayed' moniker.

We, of COURSE (duh), visit our neighbourhood playgrounds - they are fun and they visit them with their friends with*out* (gasp) me or any other parent tagging along to 'helicopter parent'.

Tedward - sounds like your kids are very well adjusted kids - JUST LIKE MINE. You? Well...

Love the idea. We often go for drives with our tot and end up wondering where the nearest park is.

Original poster: think your idea of an index is a great idea.

The 'rating system' was just something the old roundabouts blog did... Not necessary, people will figure out which parks and playgrounds are their favourites.

But always great to find new ones!

That looks like a Habitat/Landscape playground.  Got to help install one at Ecole Marigold last spring.  Good quality playground.
