"I started Modern Democracy a few years back. At the time, it was an online location for the multi camera video I was shooting of Victoria Council meetings. During those days, I also shot the odd CRD, Esquimalt and Oak Bay meeting as well. Shooting this video was an excellent way to learn the business of government and also observe the players in action.
I am fascinated by local government and the science of effective cities.
I am running for Mayor because the City of Victoria needs to change - we need to enter the modern era. We need individuals around the Council table who want to be there to do the job of Council. We need a Mayor who acts like a Mayor, someone who leads by enabling others. We need a Council that works together on behalf of the city, we do not need any more hours of endless monologues that only ever seem to result in confused staff. We need change.

He is a super passionate guy and a big Jane Jacobs fan btw. As a last minute unconventional entrant to the Victoria Mayoral Campaign, his biggest focus is on having a discussion about Victoria. Rather than playing the same political game that everyone else does, he just wants to get everyone thinking about the city, what it does, and what it could do better. Jason is a computer programmer by trade, and so he is a very process and structure oriented person.
Process and structure are two things that Victoria lacks.
My insider knowledge comes from having lived with Jason for the past five years
