I am having my finishing guy frame in the stamped concrete portion of the driveway today and then this week I will call around for quotes.  Will let you know.

Impressive Marko!  It looks like you lifted some of the best ideas from the properties you sell.

Now which one of you two gets to clean it?  :D

Let's see the view! You mentioned you could see some ocean, no?

You can see some ocean, but it isn't really a view property.  If a bunch of the neighbouring properties cut down all the trees it would be awesome.  I'll take a telecscopic lense next time for the view component.

Entire home is solid flooring, no carpets anywhere.  Roomba for the upstairs, Neato for the main :) Ordered a new Neato battery apparently lasts 63 minutes.

Why a Roomba upstairs and a Neato downstairs? I'm looking at getting one of these gadgets.

Didn't realize pavers are cheaper. What are the downsides / reasons you wanted to go partially with stamped concrete?

They can't do stairs...ha ha.  Downstairs is a little more complicated in terms of layout (Neato is more sophisticated in figuring that portion out) and I find the neato tends to hit into things with less force than the Roomba and the kitchen cabinets are down.

So who does the dusting?  That's a really BIG house.  I'm waiting for the day I can just go out a buy a Synth (like in AMC's new show Humans) - they're much more versatile.

Seriously though, I vacuum our floors twice a month with a Miele canister vac and hard floor attachment.  How effective, percentage wise, of a Miele vacuum job would you put the Roomba at?  50, 75, more?  I ask because you've now got me thinking about one.  What model is it?

Was your costco tub glass enclosure (the partial one that hinges out) from online or in-store? We want to finally get rid of the curtain in our kids' bathroom.

Who installed it?!

You can hire people to do the dusting :) I've never had a Miele and I would say the Neato/Roomba are fairly effective if you don't have any carpets.  Will also have a central vac system but primarily so I can have an outlet in the garage and one under the kitchen cabinet to sweep things into.

Online, it was this enclosure when they had it on sale for $399 -> http://www.costco.ca...t.10364864.html

My old man and I installed it......it is very easy to install when you plan on installing it and you brace the wall (which I had the carpenters do during framing).  I probably wouldn't give it a try unless you can screw the brackets into solid wood.  It is heavy, will probably come lose if just secured into drywall.

Getting to the finish line is painful.  Currently I am working on the media panel and it is already filling up as I install more components.  Next time I would definitely do two medial panels.  One for basic Cat5e networking (patch panels and switch, etc.) and a second media panel for coax, video surveillance, alarm system, and other random crap.

The stamped concrete in front of the entrance and garage is finished.  I went with stamped in these places as a "clean buffer," and remainder of the driveway/parking spots, etc., I will do in paving bricks.

Looking great with all the lights on!

RE the media panel - I find them a bit restrictive and prefer a sheet of plywood in a mechanical room to screw everything to.

Just had the exterior envelope finished off with gutters and downpipes....would recommend if building always extending the downpipes across the lower roof lines!  It makes the home look a little more cluttered but roof won't wear out in those sections.
