Has all this been included in the final product? If so, it further diminishes the need to remove the parking loop in the sake of pedestrian only space.

Move the cars back a little bit and put a pathway in there.
You're suggesting they should pursue an approach that would address specific issues in a timely and inexpensive manner?

Yes....we love dropping by Parksville's waterfront. They have done a good job of making it inclusive for everyone.

Interesting to see that Corfield St. in Parksville. The Corfield family was quite prominent in the Cowichan Valley way back when and one of the Corfield ladies was my dad's godmother. I think another had moved up near Courtney as I remember visiting an oceanfront home when I was a child. From 1955 or so until about 1961 my family spent two weeks in the summer at Greycrest, which was owned by my grandfather's friend Herb Grey. I think he had run an automotive dealership in Victoria during the 1920s and my grandfather spent some time working for him.

That's a very settler-ish sounding story, mbjj. I trust you feel the appropriate shame for your happy childhood.

Secondly that point was so windy today it could have sucked the chrome off of a trailer hitch.
What we did observe however was the fact that there is no excuse not to refurbish that area for mixed use with parking and pedestrians.
One could easily put 100 picnic tables on that point and still have room for parking for 50 or so cars.
Don’t forget we are striving for inclusion not separation.

In the CoV, inclusion doesn't include those dependent on vehicles to access CP.

So Mrs. Sparky and I took a swing by Clover Point today just to put things in perspective. Firstly we did not spot any clover no matter how hard we looked.
Secondly that point was so windy today it could have sucked the chrome off of a trailer hitch.

I would have thought I'd be used to this abuse by now, but it still makes me so angry - and council will probably get away with it.
