Yes, this is a problem. Condo windows can fail in as little as ten years. Sometimes all it takes is a little settling and that's enough to pop the seal and unsightly condensation appears. I think it's usually covered by insurance, but it's still expensive.

Is there a big difference between residential curtain wall and commercial curtain wall? I assume that we're predicting the fate of the multitude of residential buildings built in the 1990s/2000s based on our collective experience with the multitude of office buildings built in the 1960s/1970s? The curtain wall on commercial buildings hasn't fared well, I take it?

Wow.

I find myself thinking that he is really belittling window technology, for instance, he mentions Germany being energy efficient with their windows, but they praise passive house technology and the ability for windows to bring it in heat, but not let it out. 

I do disagree with him, but who knows, maybe he knows more than I do. He is an architect and academic.
