Literally neck to neck btwn Fortin and Helps

Absolutely overwhelming yes response from the amalgamation question. Was this just an informal question on the Victoria ballot or did other muni's have it as w

Seems to have had strong support in the Saanich Peninsula as well.

So the live CoV feed shows all precincts in except for mail-ins. Any chance those will be released tonight?

It's been very close but Helps has been slightly ahead almost every update for quite a while. Still less than 100 vote spread. It's enraging we don't have STV or some better voting system, I'm sure if given the chance many of those Andrew voters would have picked Helps as their #2 rather than potentially give Fortin the election.
What's clear is that more people want Fortin gone than want him to stay. What our system will give us, who knows.

I don't remember an election like this before, where it was this close plus the incumbent getting only in the 30% range of votes.
Chris Coleman just barely squeaking in again.

Interesting point: Ben Isitt, the only Victoria councillor not to support the amalgamation question, got the largest number of votes even while the electorate clearly supports the issue. Are local voters just that clueless what candidates actually stand for?

Loveday polling so high is a shocker--more votes than Madoff so far.
