This is a place to post all dates, times and locations of the upcoming open houses, public engagement forums, resident association consultations etc. regarding private sector development in the Capital Region District. Discussion around the potential development can then be moved into its own forum.
This can benefit the VV community by making our thoughts, feelings and desires tangible.

Let's set some rules to keep this manageable.
- When posting an event, include all applicable information plus post a link to the forum's discussion page/thread for the project (if one exists/you can find it).
- Any additional discussion about a project must take place in it's assigned discussion thread and not here. No off-topic discussions either.

I also wonder if Alpha will take a long time to move on their 900-block Yates project. That one seems to be making quick work of the process.
1515 Douglas might start up in a few months as well.
So who knows, by year end we might have four cranes over downtown.

A public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26th to discuss the latest advancements with this project.
We invite you to attend one of the upcoming
NEIGHBOURHOOD INFORMATION MEETINGS
for 1002 - 1012 Pandora Avenue.
BlueSky Properties submitted an application to the City of Victoria
to redevelop the properties at 1002 - 1008 and 1012 Pandora Avenue
(the former St. Andrew’s Elementary School site). The rezoning and
development permit application proposes a mixed-use building, stepping
from four to six storeys in height and including 210 rental apartment units
with ground-floor commercial space below.
Since we started in 2012, the proposal has been revised to reflect feedback
from the City and the community. We are now hosting another series of
NEIGHBOURHOOD INFORMATION MEETINGS to share details of the
updated plans and to receive further feedback on some of the new ideas
we are considering.
Please drop in to review our display boards and project model, talk to
the project team, and provide your feedback. Please note that the same
information will be available at each session and that there will not be any
formal presentations, so feel free to join us when you can.

public hearing for the Roundhouse Development Permit Application 000356 and Heritage Revitalization Agreement 15-011, to be held in the Council Chamber on Thursday, June 11th at 7PM.

Tonight's the Vote - After 8 Long Years...
Just a reminder that tonight is the historic Council Meeting to "authorize the development of the Commercial-Heritage Phase of the Roundhouse heritage site." The meeting is at 7PM and should be live-streamed. The Roundhouse applications are the first up on the agenda.

From what I gathered at the Roundhouse tent at the street fest last weekend, assuming approval, one of the first things that will happen is site remediation. This could take some time depending on how bad the contamination is and will require removing (and then replacing) much of the railroad track. That "All Aboard Summer 2016" sign will have to be changed. The good news though will be that things are finally going to get moving.
