I'd love to know the statistics on crayon-borne COVID-19 infections.

Most of those creamer cups we see in cafes are UHT processed and the ice bath is just there for our comfort.
I soaked a crayon for four days in an alcohol based hand sanitizer, no visible change to the crayon or even the paper wrapper. Weird.
We're just going to go with no crayons, people can bring their own.
Matt.

More changes coming to Starbucks over the next few years. They're looking at closing up to 200 locations in Canada, though this may be off-set with better positioned new locations. We will likely see the pick-up store concept expand out of Toronto to other urban markets. The pick-up stores offer mobile ordering only aimed at the grab-and-go office crowd.

Cozy cafe sits in Foul Bay Rd beside Hot House Pizza with lots of exposure. Parking out front of shop. Gathering spot for nearby residents. The cafe offers a satisfying selection of bake goods, sandwiches and drinks. It went through a $70,000 renovation in 2016 with another $70,000 of new equipment; total of $140,000 upgrade. It is close to Camosun College (Lansdowne), less than 10 mins walk. It is on major bus route #4 #7 #14 #15.

I've heard the Dolce Vita cafe on Douglas is closed permanently, as the elderly couple who ran it have decided to finally retire. The location at Yates and Vancouver (which is managed by their son) is still open. And still makes the best lattes in the city, for my money.

Wow! Trying to image how that is even possible for a coffee shop.

The Moka House on Fort (near RJH) is now QV Coffee House; it may or may not be affiliated with the QV Cafe & Bakery in Chinatown.
The Moka House @ James Bay / Shoal Point is no longer affiliated with Moka House on Cook Street, thus leaving the original Cook Street location as the 'last standing' Moka House...

Mile Zero Coffee is opening in the space that previously was the Second Crack coffee lab on Bridge St. Reno has been going on for months.
Curious why a similar business would open up in what seems like a really poor location for a coffee shop?
Reminds me of the infamous restaurant location at Wharf and Yates.

I think they key difference here is that Mile Zero is a coffee roaster first, and they have lots of clients already. I assume that they've outgrown their current space (wherever it is), and the Bridge Street location offers more production space in addition to the cafe.

Second Crack was also a roaster. There is also 2 other roasters within blocks. Black Bear is upstairs from the now Mile Zero location. And Bows and Arrows is just down the street on Garbally.

Montreal-based DAVIDsTEA will permanently close 82 locations in Canada, nearly half of their stores. A further 42 locations in the USA will also close. Note that currently all stores are closed, and the recent announcement is for stores that will not re-open. The company intends to shift focus to online sales and wholesales while still offering a modified in-store experience in profitable markets.
There are three locations in Victoria, but it has not been revealed which stores will be re-opening.

That business would have relied heavily on the prov govt employees above them.
