Affordable business opportunity! Turn-key operation with established client base in an attractive location on the Harbour Quay, a waterfront location that always draws tourists and locals alike to with its fresh ocean air and spectacular views. The cafe serves locally sourced food and is right on Spirit Square which hosts a year round Farmer's Market each Saturday. With a refreshed interior complete with Barista machine, coolers and the best view in the Alberni Valley, this is a must see!

A 2017 Everett, Washington dress code ordinance requiring that "quick service" workers must cover the upper and lower body has been ruled unconstitutional by a federal court.

The ruling comes after the U.S. District Court in Seattle found that the ordinance violated the equal protection clauses of the U.S. and Washington state constitutions.

Crotch coverage has always been optional.

What happens under the apron, stays under the apron.

The outdoor seating area on Kings Road near Cafe Fantastico on Quadra was recently removed - I noticed this on Saturday. Sunday I observed that it had been replaced by a wooden platform atop pavers. Perhaps a more permanent looking installation will be happening, parklet-style.

I recall the now-gone previous setup first appeared at the very end of the summer 2020 season, just over two years ago. Now wondering if that was a trial setup.

Soupa Cafe is moving into the former  bingo hall on Esquimalt Road after being vacant for over a year and a half.

The building is scheduled to be torn down in the future but Avi Lugassy, co-owner of Soupa Cafe, didn’t want the space to go to waste.

Following their grand opening on Thursday, the old bingo hall is now Soupa Cafe’s latest location.

Starbucks workers strike at more than 100 US stores

Starbucks workers at more than 100 U.S. stores are on strike Thursday in their largest labor action since a campaign to unionize the company’s stores began late last year.

https://halifax.city...-stores-6117009

The walkouts coincide with Starbucks’ annual Red Cup Day, when the company gives free reusable cups to customers who order a holiday drink. Workers say it’s often one of the busiest days of the year. Starbucks declined to say how many red cups it plans to distribute.

Workers say they're seeking better pay, more consistent schedules and higher staffing levels in busy stores. Stores in 25 states planned to take part in the labor action, according to Starbucks Workers United, the group organizing the effort. Strikers are handing out their own red cups with union logos.

Wow. They seemed relatively busy, but it’s tough for a local chain to overcome the level of familiarity Starbucks brings.

Cafe Fantastico has 3 locations and a prices of identical items differs up to several dollars depending on location. It was a bit surprising the last time I went to the one on kings road and my regular order was several dollars cheaper than the Humbolt location. Exactly the same order just cheaper at one location over the other. Quite odd
