I wonder, if with the advent of point systems and consumer tracking, if their algorithms suggest that demand is inelastic if a specific location goes down. There must be some method to these decisions.

Of course there is.  And they are simply applying that metric.

The brand new CEO was put in place to turn that damn ship around, like they did with Chipotle.   And Taco Bell.

In the year 2025 we're still hoping there might be something resembling logic and intelligence guiding these kinds of decisions. Spoiler alert: our pool of excuses ran dry years ago. Heck, for all we know they might be preparing society for the big switchover to UAV-delivered coffee or robot baristas inside Amazon vans or some other insanely inefficient, expensive, and crazy wasteful approach. But whatever the case it will be called innovative and those "in the know" will claim it's reducing costs while also saving the environment and promoting love and tolerance, too. Should I mention the price per cup will increase significantly as per the now well-established formula? Anyway...

If by work life balance you mean being on call 24/7 then yes, that’s a balance.

After years of being vacant, a yarn cafe is going into the address (153-2745 Veteran's Memorial Parkway) operated previously as Culis Market, a convenience store and Vietnamese restaurant that closed down after the owner (Anne) passed away from Cancer.

I'm no yarn person, but I do love the idea of another cafe opening up here in Langford and it's nice the place is seeing use again.

$200k does not intimate strong income potential.

Discovery is just across the street with a southern exposure, making this location much trickier. And the area is not poised for strong residential growth.

Starbucks announces massive Nashville headquarters just 5 months after Seattle mayor called for boycott. Did it cost the city $100M and 2,000 jobs?

Starbucks may be pouring its next big investment far from home, and it's not just oat milk that's leaving Seattle. (1)

Just five months after Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson publicly urged a boycott of Starbucks at a workers rally (2) — telling the crowd, "I am not buying Starbucks, and you should not, too" — the company announced it will invest $100 million in a new Southeast headquarters in Nashville, bringing up to 2,000 jobs with it (3).

I have no idea why a coffee shop chain requires 2,000 office support jobs. Just sell coffee.

We should have the federal government contract Starbucks to manage payroll for them.

They really fudged up when they focused on online orders while you stood there for no joke, upwards of 15 minutes waiting for the simple order you placed.

Mrs. Mike K said there were a couple of coffee breaks that she spent waiting for her order, and was late back to work. She’s never gone back during her coffee breaks.
