^Probably because the coffee maker at work doesn't work, as per the custom.
One office I worked in back in the day had a terrific espresso machine. Didn't work worth a damn, clogged all the time, leaked onto the counter, etc. But it looked sensational. Smelled pretty good, too. Even when it was spraying filthy water everywhere.
