Three true "tower" cranes, four if you count the mini Janion one.  The Broughton one is harder to see because it doesn't rise above the hill in the background.  I think I'll be able to see the future cranes on Yates so I'll keep a watch out.  I shot this with my RX100 so you can go to flickr to see the original.

It looks to me like the mini Janion one is being taken down.  Is this just temporary due to the storm?

No, this isn't Victoria, it's La Jolla California, where everyone has their own cardiologist, and every demolished old home requires a massively upsized new one that needs a mini tower crane to construct.

La Jolla is a lovely spot. An almost perfect climate with great sunsets over the Pacific.

Getting back to our local cranes, might we see an all time record in 2016. In addition to what's in Gary's shot, I'm thinking we will be adding many more: Encore, Pandora and Vancouver, Capital Park. I'm probably missing some.

Don't be so sure.

Legato and Jukebox, possibly. And 1008 Pandora might require one.

While having breakfast this morning I (just barely) snapped this red mini crane cruising down Pandora. It looked just like the one that was setup at the Janion. I wonder where it was heading.

Yes, they've swapped the yellow crane at the Wilson's Walk site for the one used at the Janion site.  I know it's the Janion crane since it has the exact same graffiti on its mast that I commented on in the Janion thread.

How high up is the graffiti?

From the Janion thread, post #800:  http://vibrantvictor...ation/?p=259941

The graffiti starts around the top of the counter-weight stack.  Note the graffiti was not present in post #792 above it.  So it was "added" some time between May 8th and May 14th and it remains to this day.

Wasn't it VHF that said there was only one black guy in Victoria? And you managed to snap a pic of him, well done.

LJ, edit your post and remove that little paper clip icon from the quote - it makes me dizzy.

The rooftop of The 834 provides an outstanding vantage point for the towers currently up in Victoria. Clear view of 5 with a slight view of a 6th at Capital Park. It'll have a fantastic vantage of the second tower at 1515 Douglas, as well as towers that go up at 819 Yates and Legato. Click this link for the full size image (click on the image and you'll be able to zoom into 100%).
