As the Canadian Forces Snowbirds summer season gets underway, alumni of the group are calling for the federal government to find an alternative to grounding the planes after this season.

Last month, the federal government announced the team would be grounded until the early 2030s while the aging planes are replaced.

The plan is to replace the CT-114 Tutor jets with CT-157 Siskin II aircraft.
