Remember, today is the day for Vic West's Street Fest from 10AM to 4PM.  They've closed down Harbour Rd. and Point Hope Shipyard is conducting free tours - highly recommended.

 

Some of us from Promontory will be heading down there at 1PM today.  See you there.

I'll post the UEL photos in the Point Hope Shipyard forum but needless to say I spent most of my time outside of the shipyard at the Bayview Place booth.  More on that in the Roundhouse and Lot 5 forums.  This year the shipyard tour had the main tug tied up so we got to tour it and talk with the captain.  The bridge is a very cool mix of very old tech (big handled levers with wooden handles) with modern GPS and flat panel navigation technology.

Seems like it was well attended. Just imagine what some real residential density could do for the vibrancy of this area!

I added the Point Hope Shipyard Phase 2 concept drawing that was on display during the tour to the previous set of pics.  Phase 2 is going to happen, Phase 3 maybe.

Given that it competed with the Oak Bay tea party, probably quite well attended.

This year's street fest and Point Hope Maritime open house is tomorrow, Sunday.

 

If Bayview Place has a booth this year, I'll be curious as to what they have to say about the Roundhouse.
