Victoria Sushi is the name of the new sushi place opening up in the former Blockbuster space at Westside Village in Vic West.

This is fantastic for this neighbourhood. I also wish another restaurant would open in the vicinity, hopefully someone will jump in when the Railyards offers a commercial space for lease.

Sure hope they didn't overpay the marketing team for that name!

I'm hoping another restaurant opens up in the space next to Caffe Fantastico on the corner of Harbour Rd and the Goose.

Perhaps West Side Sushi was already taken.

Looks like Victoria Sushi is open for business.  Will have to swing by for lunch/dinner sometime soon and check it out.

Awesome!

What a pleasant surprise, an upscale sushi place in a strip mall.  The decor (more like something you'd see in a high-end hotel sushi joint), ambiance, service, and especially the food are great!   We can't wait to try more from their extensive menu.  Some things of note, they don't have the liquor license yet so no beer or sake.  They also have a sister restaurant in Langford, called, you guessed it, Langford Sushi.  Apparently there's one in Vancouver as well.  I've had many Rainbow Rolls in my time and I have to say this was the most impressive, and that sauce... umm.  The picture of the menu was only two of about six or more pages.  To borrow a line from that popular Food Network show:  "You gotta eat here."

The Rainbow Roll (that fancy sauce was to die for).

Langford Sushi is my go to place, in spite of the drive (it's in the strip mall besides the McDonald's just off the highway). I will definitely try this one now!

The menu looks like the same one.

Wasabi mayo is awesome.

Two sides to a near empty restaurant and got seated right behind the kid who hit the uber high notes. Had to bail after we were only served water and go to Zen Sushi. The price is right here but the service still needs some polishing..

Were they playing the K-pop gangsta rap while you were there?

Went in last Friday at 12:30, it was packed so I recommend a reservation for lunch.
I thought it was really good and fresh tasting, exact same menu as Langford Sushi. My heart will always belong to Ebizo but this will be my go to lunch sushi due to its location!
You have to try the monkey brain (best shared)!
