You’re on a roll Kungsberg, thank you!
Thanks Mike. Yesterday felt like I was channeling my dad, a man who never met a building site he couldn’t fall in love with.

Boy is this one flying under the radar despite the prime location.
Some pics from yesterday. Interesting side note, I walked by Blue Sky on Pandora, Jukebox, 989 Johnson, the Custom House and Tapestry and they all had some staff working onsite on a Saturday.

So if I read it right, this site is supposed to be senior-only rentals for perpetuity? How nice of the CoV to subsidize affluent retirees who are most likely from out of town.

its seniors rental only, non subsidized and a private developer, nothing to do with CoV other than them approving it. Who says they are from out of town? No disrespect, did you just move here because Victoria seniors are loaded, they will be selling their $1+ million houses that are all mortgage free and moving here.

I mean subsidized in the sense the "seniors-only" clause obviously drives down prices for the tenants due to reduced demand for the same supply. It's good if that's what it took to get the project approved, though, and seniors downsizing is also great for opening up new opportunities for development elsewhere. Was just a bit jaded at the time I wrote the post because earlier in the day I was going through rental postings and the few good deals I saw were in 55+ buildings lol.

We heard that the top few floors would be market priced condos for seniors, the next few floors would be assisted living, and the lower floors would be full-on extended care (plus some retail at podium level). My husband says "If they put a morgue in the basement, we're in! One stop shopping"

I've already got this arrangement locked up. My master bedroom faces Sands Funeral Home on Quadra. When I shuffle off this mortal coil, my remains can be disposed of with just a good thrust out the window.

I so hope this project will turn out to be much nicer looking than the renderings.
