Drivers of electric vehicles are eligible for the rebate as they pay insurance premiums that have contributed to ICBC’s financial position

This is what happens when ideology trumps even the most basic of common sense.

Oh yeah, it's absurd, right? But what isn't these days?

...Horgan said...there are more tools at the government’s disposal to address inflation....We’re monitoring inflationary pressures not just at the pump but across the economy and we’re always ready to step in if the need arises....A good chunk of the price [of gas] is made up of taxes. This includes roughly 17 cents in provincially-set taxes…

https://www.vicnews....igh-gas-prices/

Is one of those tools a reduction in taxes?

This is what happens when ideology trumps even the most basic of common sense.

Or their computer system can’t differentiate.

The whole rebate idea is political.

So is the way the province runs the insurance system for that matter.

I don't own a car, but I often pay for gas in a friends' cars when they help me out running errands. Where is my rebate?

Do you chip in for their insurance though?

Where is my rebate?

The thousands you've saved not paying for car insurance ;)

The rebate is for gas, not insurance.

The source of the rebate payment is irrelevant.

A group of mostly peaceful formerly on a terrorist list Iranian protestors bombed a Saudi oil facility.

Biden removed them from a terrorist list the day he took office. I guess he’ll put them back on it now.

The attack speaks to the importance of energy independence. And like Germany has learned the hard way by landing in Russia's lap, I’m not talking windmills. But oil and gas.

$1.899 now. It seems like a bargain.

I just returned from an extended long weekend visit at my sister's place near Qualicum. Gas prices are 13 cents/liter more here than they are there.

You may actually want to burn through the gas you have as it's likely going bad by now.

Consider putting gas treatment into the tank. It keeps your fuel nice and fresh, and you don’t have to worry about topping it up with fresh stuff.

I’ve come to the conclusion the way we buy gas - or at least the way we normally buy gas - seems odd. Or at least there could be more ways.

It’s the only commodity that most single family households buy, in the fashion we do.

We literally drive up to a vehicle-centred station and pull a hose over to the car.

But why?

We have or commonly had, heating oil delivered to the house. So there is no general opposition to us having tanks full of petroleum inside or just outside homes.

Why don’t they sell gasoline in 4-litre containers at the supermarket? And if they did, cars should have a bit better filler or second filler area for home fills.

I think there would be good opportunity for custom label gas. Gucci, or Crown Royal or Lucerne or Black Label or Kirkland.

But back to the home bulk storage. Most houses have unused attic space that would be great for the bulk tank. Now the fuel can gravity feed down the rubber pipe to the driveway. No finicky pumps.
