I hope they all say no
I think the YouTubes will submit. Maybe Netflix.
Not sure if Rumble or The Daily Wire are going to submit any time soon.
Or Disney or Paramount. Or Apple.
If these companies refuse to submit, what will the CRTC do? Require Canadian internet providers to block these sites?
I wonder who the 129 intervenors are.
And finally, has this been properly thought through? I certainly will not hesitate to use an VPN and buy a subscription in the US (if credit card will allow it), therefore depriving government of tax revenue and viewership of Canadian services.
Hopefully someone has the finances to block this until the supreme court hears it.
These conditions take effect today and require certain online streaming services to provide the CRTC with information related to their content and subscribership.
Not sure everyone wants to comply with that. Especially the private companies like Daily Wire.

It's neck-and-neck with the big grocery store tax for helping Canadians.
Each company will work with the Liberal government to deliver a plan on grocery prices specific to their operations by Thanksgiving, Champagne said.

How’s that social media news ban going, for Canadian content?
It’s been fabulous.

We pay for content we don’t watch. We have a near monopoly on telecoms. Now Canadians can’t get news where they went to get it, for an entire generation.

Maybe government should just sit this stuff out, for a while.

They are just looking out for us though.

I’m good with a shut down of streaming services here. Maybe it will get more people to wake up to our social engineering problem if their kids are screaming because they can’t watch Netflix.
