Looks like the former school uniform shop is about ready to fall to the wrecking ball (OK, probably just an excavator with a big ram on it), probably before the end of the week. Not sure about Edwards Welding, but I'm gusessing its gone too very soon.

I like that rendering of Radius. Looks like the laneway that should be going in through Hudson will cross over to the south side of Radius. Will there be a walkway through Radius to continue through to Chatham street?

Half of the uniform store and the welding shop are gone now. The welding shop had some major overhead cranes type of thing that took some time to dismantle.

Not really. Wait 5 or ten minutes, the west wall falls too, they are just uploading to YouTube. They didn't even stop traffic on Caledonia as it fell.

Wonder how long it will take for all those concrete chunks to end up as road bed some where?

There's a larger, updated rendering of the Radius project in the Journal of Commerce. A link is available via the Radius website [url=http://radiusvictoria.com/pdf/JournalofCommerce-27Dec06.pdf:c9ae4]here[/url:c9ae4].

This is looking northeast, with the residential portion on the left and office portion on the top-right. The Jack Davis building is the white mass on the right.

Know it all.

that is a HUGE improvement over "the wall"

Here's the bigger pic.

I just really fear that "ammenity" is just going to be useless land. I fear it will be like centenial square. An unsafe useless square other than a few events here and there. It has the Jack Davis' retaining wall on one side, and a blank brick wall of the IBM office building on the other side.

I would have gone with another tower there and an interesting mid-block walkway with shops. Ah right, but a dead square is "public ammenity" and usefull shops and vibrancy is greed... I forgot how victoria works.

That is actually supposed to be the university entrance, sort of below those zigzag steps. So there will be a lot of activity there. Also I have heard that that structure on the East side of that little square is going to be a 2 storey glass food service retail (read Starbucks).

^ Well, what can I say. I had a video cam in my hand at the right time. Didn't use my new digicam, although it can do video too.
