We had one downtown, but it closed until the spring because so few people ride bikes here in the fall and winter.

They have a slightly bigger population.
Utrecht is a city in the Netherlands, known for its medieval center. It has tree-lined canals, Christian monuments and a venerable university...

Your citation links are messed up. Also, I did a bike tour and rode through Utrecht a few years ago. Definitely not 1.307 million people. You can argue that it's not a fair comparison because it's Europe and the NL in general is one massive conurbation with highly advanced infrastructure. But I don't think that means we can't follow them as an example.

Well, we tried to follow them, and we still failed. The Dutch looked at our bike lane designs and asked what on God’s earth we were thinking.

Just to make aastra happy I got off my ass and went and took a development picture for him.
This shot was taken at lunchtime today. Development score zero, nilch, nada, dick.
Ok that wasn't entirely true. There was some development by this guy.

So there would be a new little street inserted between this development and the gas station etc. along Douglas? And then the gas station etc. along Douglas would also be redeveloped?
