FEES FOR CABIN USE
The Ministry of Forests has set the price of an overnight stay in any Cabin at $15 per person per night.
The monies will be used for maintenance costs and cabin supplies such as propane.
The cabins are well appointed and comfortable. The have propane cook stoves ranges with ovens. Tables chairs and platforms and floors for sleeping on. there are guest books games axes firewood sinks and dishes and cutlery. They also have wood stoves and emergency food rations.
It is a good practice to leave something. The cabins are far enough form any roads (except for Tower) that vandalism is rare and unlikely.
The club which owns the structures have passive aggressive notes posted in the cabins which are meant to dissuade people from staying overnight with out booking in advance. However to book a cabin they require persons to be a member of their club. the Ministry of Forests however have notes in them saying that the cabins are on public property and that all are welcome and the places are to be respected and shared. There are locked secure donation boxes in each cabin that are secured to the walls. this is where overnight fees should be placed .
An example of a KOC note in a cabin would look like this......
Feel Free to use the cabin to warm up and have a snack but know that our club members could appear at any time of the day or even in the middle of the night using headlamps....blah blah blah
Here is what we would like to say about the situation
Respect the Cabins
Get along with each Other
Share the Cabins
Have Fun
Bring some Cash for the Donation Box
Do Improvements
Fix Something
Leave Something
Chop some fire wood
Clean Up after yourselves
Be Mature
Don't be Rude
Don't Bully People
Don't damage anything
Use common sense
