KGO laid off their news staff. Used to love listening to it in the evening when it would skip off the ionosphere so we could hear AM radio from San Francisco. Long before the internet made that common.

In an article in Forbes detailing the Top 10 weakest career prospects in 2016, not surprisingly "media" careers including newspaper reporter (1), TV  reporter (3) and DJ (4) comprised 3 of the top 4 careers with the poorest prospects in the foreseeable future. I know many radio folks particularly in Vancouver and not one of them would recommend following in their footsteps. Sad to see how far the medium has fallen especially in the last 20 years. For the record number two was logging.....
