Picked up my new Hybrid Maverick. So much demand for this that they have filled the order book for the model year and have stopped taking orders till mid summer for the 23's.

Numbers say it should get about 42mpg which isnt to shabby for a p/u

Those are some nice rims for an entry level pick-up truck. How much was it again?

That's the cutest thing I've ever seen!

It's nice that they're bringing back these micro trucks. It's about time, honestly.

Kia will start delivering the EV6 to dealerships next month (Hyundai soon afterwards). This will be the Model 3, X and Y killer. Ford and Rivian will kill the Cybertruck and that will leave Mercedes, BMW and Porsche to fight over the S market.

I'm told my Ionic 5 will be built in July.

This is the XLT Hybrid so middle of the range. Delivered taxes in was $39k. Its quite well equipped, heated mirrors, seats and steering wheel, Apple and Android. The bed has a 110 power plug and the back seat has a 400w inverter. I added the tailgate extender as well. Rides more like an SUV than a truck, likely because its based on the Escape and Bronco platform

Have you been given a price yet? Sounds like a decently equipped Kia or Hyundai will come in under the $50K threshold to get the max tax rebates as well. Longer range than a Model 3 and about 60% of the price.

Smoking value. Ridgeline Sport which is a similar concept with tax would be 53k-54k out the door.

Maybe they should delay fool saFe DriVIng for a little while longer.

Tesla Inc will recall 53,822 U.S. vehicles with the company’s Full Self-Driving (Beta) software that may allow some models to conduct “rolling stops” and not come to a complete stop at some intersections posing a safety risk.

The "recall" is an OTA software update.

And all it'll do is have the car go to zero, instead of 2mph at a stop sign where there are zero other cars present.  So now it'll be the only vehicle acting odd at the intersection.  70% of drivers do not stop at intersections where they are required to.

But these cars are supposed to me smarter. Are they building in bad driver habits now?

Yes, actually. When you set it to “aggressive” it will also speed and make more bold lane changes and merges etc. Just like a human driver.

Nobody going to switch it on if 95% of the other cars are passing you on the highway.

It’s not going to be legal until it’s proven to be at least 5x maybe 10x safer than even a good human driver.

Patience, young grasshopper.

The vast vast majority of 'rolling stops' don't result in collisions.  Most 4-way stops can safely be converted to yields anyway.
