The federal government is expanding its electric vehicle rebate program to include larger vehicles such as vans, SUVs and trucks which previously had not qualified.

The program, launched in 2019, offers a $5,000 rebate for fully electric vehicles and $2,500 for hybrid vehicles, but had a price cap of $55,000 on a vehicle purchase.

Starting next week, the price cap is being raised to $65,000 for cars and a new category will offer the rebate for larger vehicles up to $70,000.

The owners of the exclusive contract for the supply of diesel fuel (produced by the Russian Lukoil) to Ukraine (30% of all supplies from the Russian Federation) – the Grand Prix Oil company – are planning to get another lithium ore deposit in Kirovoghrad region, central Ukraine.

Lithium stocks are present in appreciable quantity in Ukraine. The world’s lithium reserves amount to about 53 million tons. Demand for lithium in world production is quite prominent today, especially from manufacturers of storage batteries for electric vehicles.

Jessica Friesen's family has been pumping gas in Ontario's Niagara Region for more than five decades. But as electric vehicles increasingly take over Canada's roads, some experts warn that her industry's days are numbered.

Friesen, however, is unfazed. Since her grandfather opened the first Gales Gas Bar location in 1967, the family business has grown and adapted over the decades, and it now comprises 14 gas stations, as well as convenience stores and fuel delivery trucks.

^ That is why many 'gas stations' are adding charging capabilities. Heck they can make more money on the markup on electricity then they can gas!

They can probably do different types of pricing policies too. Prepay, all-you-can-charge, different loyalty plans and discounts, like time-of-day.

Tesla says it will turn Shanghai into “the world’s largest vehicle export hub” with a new factory capable of producing 450,000 electric vehicles per year, next to the existing plant.

Gigafactory Shanghai is a massive success for Tesla and enabled the automaker to grow at an impressive rate during the pandemic while the rest of the auto industry slowed down.

Last year, CEO Elon Musk disclosed that Gigafactory Shanghai has now surpassed Fremont Factory in production capacity, and Tesla has made the Chinese factory its new main export hub. The factory looked unstoppable, until it was shut down for most of last month due to serious COVID-19 restrictions in Shanghai.

Tesla finally managed to restart production a few weeks ago, and now we learned that it received significant help from the local authorities.

Right beside the flagship Costco planned to go up at Beacon Hill Park, the one with the Pickleball courts going on the roof.

F-150 news. Each dealer will get one demo truck. Starting this month.

Not long ago, we shared that Ford threatened to stop sending inventory to dealers that participate in price gouging. Now, with the all-new F-150 Lighting in production, and demos arriving at dealerships, Ford has issued another warning to its vast dealer network.

According to the recent dealer memo first discovered and shared by the F-150 Lightning Forum, dealers must refrain from selling Lightning demo units early. The memo was related to Ford's Courtesy Transportation Program (FCTP), which is the company's unit that provides demo cars to dealerships. The memo states that Ford will send one electric truck demo unit to each dealer beginning in the middle of this month.

________

Based on the details provided in the memo, Ford dealers must have F-150 Lightning demos in service for at least six months, though there's no mileage requirement. If the dealerships were to sell the units too early, it could result in a penalty of $25,000, unless the demo can be replaced within 90 days.

Vancouver Island’s first-ever public hydrogen fuelling station has officially opened in Saanich.

Located at an existing Esso gas station, the new pump is the fourth in the province and is the result of a partnership between Vancouver-based Hydrogen Technology and Energy Corporation and 7-Eleven Canada.

Provincial funding of $500,000 under the CleanBC Go Electric program was provided for the project, along with $1 million from the federal government under the Electric Vehicle and Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Deployment Initiative.

“Through CleanBC, we are working to expand our hydrogen-fuelling network to encourage more British Columbians to make the switch to a cleaner vehicle,” Bruce Ralston, Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation stated in a release.

drove the eGolf from dec 2017 until upgrade to ID4 in oct 2021 - no issues with tires - but then we are low mileage drivers!
